Digital vehicle marketplace grown into one of Switzerland's largest

A Swiss online marketplace for all vehicle categories was built up with international development teams, focused product strategy, and first native apps, to become one of the country's largest marketplaces.

Cars, motorcycles, commercial vehicles, spare parts, on one platform. The marketplace existed but wasn't leading. With a clear product vision, international teams in Switzerland, Ukraine, and France, and consistent iteration, market position was strengthened step by step.

As Head of Product Management, responsibility was carried for roadmap, product strategy, cross-national development teams, and the launch of the first native apps on iOS and Android.

01 · Starting point

Marketplace established but not yet the market leader.

The platform existed, but in key areas, mobile usage, listing processes, app experience, it was not where it needed to be.

The vehicle marketplace segment was intensely competitive. Development teams in three countries worked without a unified product strategy. Priorities were unclear, mobile usage was a blind spot, and the listing process for dealers and private sellers was too complex.

A clear Head-of-Product role was needed, with ownership of the roadmap, international teams, and the consistent development of the platform in the market, reporting directly to the managing director.

02 · Role and contribution

Product strategy, international teams, and new platform dimensions.

First native apps for iOS and Android

Concept, scope, and requirements for the first native apps were defined and built with international development teams in Kyiv and France, including mobile vehicle capture via vehicle ID scan.

Listing and selling form rebuilt from scratch

The entire listing process for dealers and private sellers was redesigned, to significantly cut effort and error rates while improving conversion.

A/B testing infrastructure for the entire group

A group-wide testing infrastructure was built and rolled out, including test planning, KPI definition, and adoption as the standard across all products in the group.

03 · Approach

International teams, clear product logic, consistent iteration.

The key was a product prioritisation that aligned all teams, Switzerland, Ukraine, France, toward the same focus. Instead of many parallel initiatives, the most effective levers were identified and executed consistently.

Continuous A/B testing ensured that decisions were made on a data basis. Roadmap transparency to the managing director was a permanent part of the role.
