Anonymized example context
Digital platform infrastructure introduced in a new country market
After the acquisition of a major news brand in a new market, the full digital infrastructure of the parent platform was transferred and locally adapted.
The goal was to bring an acquired news brand onto the same technological foundation as the established parent platform, CMS, apps, mobile PWA, and desktop website including all local adaptations.
The mandate included full technical project leadership, coordination of all teams in two countries, and building out CMS extensions and SEO structures for the new market.
01 · Starting point
Acquired brand, tight timeline, new market requirements.
After the acquisition of a leading news brand in a new market, the task was clear: transfer the technology, adapt for the local market, go live fast.
The acquired brand ran on its own infrastructure, no longer compatible with the parent platform. The goal: transfer the full technology stack, CMS, app, PWA, desktop, so the local editorial team could work independently with the system.
At the same time, country-specific features had to be built in, local SEO structures established, and all teams in both countries kept in sync throughout the project.
02 · Role and contribution
Own the technology transfer end to end.
Transfer the platform infrastructure
CMS technology, apps (iOS/Android), mobile PWA, and desktop website were transferred to the new brand and fully adapted for the new market.
Coordinate teams across two countries
Backlogs, roadmaps, and team capacities were led from Switzerland. Go-to person for all technology questions in the new market.
Ensure local adaptation and SEO
Country-specific requirements were defined and implemented, custom CMS extensions were developed, and SEO was rolled out across all platforms.
03 · Approach
Not a copy-paste a transfer with intent.
The approach was clearly structured: assess the current state of both platforms, define all adaptation needs for the new market, then execute a staged rollout with parallel editorial quality assurance in the new country.
Key was close involvement of the local team: technology alone is not enough, the transfer is only complete when the editorial team in the new market can publish independently.
Defining elements
- Assessment and delta analysis of both platforms
- Define adaptation requirements for the new market
- Transfer CMS, apps, PWA, and desktop
- Implement SEO and local CMS extensions
- Enable the editorial team in the new market
04 · Context at a glance
Platform scaling across national borders.
When a digital platform is brought into a new market, technology is only part of the challenge.
05 · Outcome
Leading news platform of the new market live on a shared technical foundation.
The result was a fully migrated platform that the local team could operate editorially and technically on its own.
Outcome: all platform components transferred and live, local SEO structures built, CMS extensions for the new market implemented, and the editorial team enabled to publish independently.
This case represents mandates where platform scaling, cross-national coordination, and technical expertise all need to work at the same time.
